The Detroit Lions four game winning streak came to an abrupt end on Sunday, October 22nd, as the team fell to the Baltimore Ravens 38-6. The loss brings the Lions record to 5-2 on the season, still good enough for first in the NFC North.
The Lions couldn’t get anything going against the Ravens, as the team was held scoreless until early in the fourth quarter when rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs broke off a 21 yard touchdown run. For his part, quarterback Jared Goff was kept in check, amassing just 284 yards and an interception, while also being sacked five times.
The Lions defense, which has performed well this season, was ultimately unable to contain Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. Jackson, who had been having a quiet season to this point, broke out in a big way. He had a near perfect passer rating, going 21 for 27, with 357 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also tacked on another touchdown on the ground.
The Lions will look to recover on Monday Night Football as they play host to the 3-4 Las Vegas Raiders.
